Road Cycling in Dumfries & Galloway

Road riding in Dumfries and Galloway is really fantastic. We have a huge network of minor roads with barely any traffic at all. The countryside is stunning and amazingly varied. We have rugged coastlines with sandy coves and bays, undulating farmland dotted with a variety of livestock, including Galloway Belties and Highland cattle. We have forests and we have moors, with some truly staggering views.

There are plenty of cycling friendly places to stay in the area. Our Links page has information on these and if you are visiting and fancy joining some of the locals for a ride, there are a few clubs to choose from. Again, these can be found on our Links page.

There  are loads of opportunities for cyclo cross rides around here too. With the multitude of lanes and forest it's easy to link a really good combination of road, singletrack and forest track.
